Our Story

I'm Sara Lárusdóttir, the founder and designer behind & Dóttir.
I’m originally from Iceland and now live in Lund, Sweden with my husband and our three boys. We’ve called Lund our home since 2013.

My journey began in the beauty industry, where I trained as a makeup artist and nail technician and worked for several years in Iceland. Later, after moving to Sweden, I shifted my focus to design, studying textile and fashion design in Malmö. It was there, in 2016, that I first discovered cork — a sustainable, beautiful material that sparked my passion for creating cork accessories.

Alongside running Studio G, our hair salon in Lund with my husband — a hairdresser and barber — I continued working creatively. I also managed the online store and marketing for my mother’s lifestyle shop back in Iceland, blending my love of design, business, and sustainability.

After seven wonderful years balancing these projects, I completed my degree in Digital Marketing and felt a strong pull to return to designing. & Dóttir was born from that spark — a brand dedicated to creating high-quality cork aprons and accessories that are beautiful, practical, and kind to both people and the planet.

At & Dóttir, we partner with a small factory in Portugal to bring our designs to life, always with a focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, and comfort — especially for creative professionals like hairdressers, who inspired our very first cork apron.
